90% of under ground utilities are located in the top 3m of overburden. Many large companies have implemented a policy of removing the over burden to visually inspect the area. Day lighting before drilling virtually eliminates the potential of hitting an underground utility during drilling activities and greatly reduces their potential liabilities.

Profile Drilling answered this need be providing the 550 Hydro Vac unit. This piece of equipment removes the overburden layer by using a combination of high-pressure water and suction. We are able to daylight a hole as large as 8” to a depth of up to 10’. The overburden is removed via a 3” hose, which deposits the cutting into a 550-gallon tank leaving an empty void where hazards can be identified.
